A L E Y D I S N I S S E N
Hello. My name is Aleydis. I am a senior research fellow at the Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique and the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and an assistant professor at the University of Antwerp. I am also a guest lecturer at Leiden University and a Flemish Human Rights Institute's Board of Directors member.
Cambridge University Press published my book "The European Union, Emerging Global Business and Human Rights". This book operates between complex legal orders. Apart from European and international perspectives, the book integrates socio-legal studies covering global value chains. The Journal of Human Rights Practice (OUP), European Journal of Risk Regulation (CUP), Chicago Journal of International Law, Human Rights Quarterly, and Business and Human Rights Journal (CUP) are some of the journals that published my work.
My work has been cited by the International Labour Organisation and recommended by the Council of the EU and the European Parliament. It has been featured in The Independent, The Diplomat and The Huffington Post. I co-launched and co-edit the platform www.leidenlawmethodsportal.nl
I obtained my master's degree at KULeuven and my PhD degree at Cardiff University's School of Law and Politics. I also studied and worked in the fields of journalism and marketing management. I completed visiting research stays at the University of Oxford's Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Bonn University's Centre for European Integration Studies and Seoul National University's EU Centre.
