POSTCARD FROM SEOUL
I was in Seoul when the South Korean Constitutional Court delivered a landmark ruling on climate change. The Court ordered amendments to current legislation aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, ensuring that it aligns with protecting the constitutional rights of future generations. Below is a photo I took of the 'green' court. It’s inspiring to see global progress, driven by fearless litigators and judges.

Recently, Lize Glas and I completed a chapter on climate judgments in the European Court of Human Rights. Unlike many discussions, we focus on the admissibility and enforcement of climate claims. Our chapter will be published in Dutch in a book edited by colleagues from Leiden. - August 2024
