My book ‘The European Union, Emerging Global Business and Human Rights’ has just been published by Cambridge University Press! The book discusses the intersection between European Union regulation and remediation and human rights violations by corporations from non-Western countries. Consult this book leaflet for all information.
In this post, I would like to honour the artist who kindly allowed me to use her work on the cover of my book. Frida Baranek is a sculptor from Rio de Janeiro who is currently living in Lisbon. The work on the cover is titled ‘The numbers tell the story’. In her work, Baranek creates meaning by reusing and remaking discarded materials. She is inspired by her home country Brazil, the largest of South American countries that has experienced immense changes related to rapid urbanization and industrialization over the last four decades. - November 2022
